Habitat for Humanity of Craven County announces top sponsors for 35th anniversary fundraiser
Habitat for Humanity of Craven County has announced the event sponsors for its 35th anniversary “Hammer It Home” fundraiser on Friday, November 1. The event will be held at the Pavilion at Carolina Colours Golf Club from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. The top sponsor for the event is B/S/H Home Appliance Corporation, which donated at the $2,500 SuperStructure level.
Other top donors who generously gave at the $1,000 Raise the Rafters level are: former N.C. Governor Bev Perdue and Bob Evans; Patti and Richard Peebles; Black Insurance Services, LLC; Carpet One of New Bern; Craven County Independent Insurance Agents Association; First Citizens Bank; International Paper; and New Bern Family Dentistry.
The “Hammer It Home” fundraiser will feature a Reverse Drawing with the winning ticket receiving $5,000. Another highlight will be the return of the CHAIR-ity Live Auction of 10 chairs hand-painted by local artists.
The evening will also feature a Silent Auction, Playhouse Raffle, giveaways, cash bar, hors d’oeuvres by Thee Catering Company and music with the Bridge Atlantic Band. The MC for the evening will be George Oliver. The Live Auction will be hosted by Ret. General Tom Braaten. Tickets for “Hammer It Home” are $75 each and can be purchased at CravenCountyHabitat.org.
HFHCC Executive Director Tracey Lilly praised the “Hammer It Home” Committee membe — Cinda Hill, Daena Hoey, Eileen Nonemaker, Kelly Cormier, Heather Thornburg, Patti Peebles and Sherwood Crawford — for their efforts in organizing the 35th anniversary fundraiser.

Habitat for Humanity of Craven County was established in 1989 as an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a non-profit Christian housing ministry.
